NIHR CYP MedTech and the Yorkshire and Humber Academic Health Science Network hosted the ‘How to Develop Good Ideas in Paediatric Health and Medicine’ workshop in Sheffield on 27 February 2019.

Delegates heard from a wide range of speakers before taking part in round table discussions. The main topic was the support available in the development and commercialisation elements of the innovation journey with talks on:

• Research design and setting up clinical trials
• Access to funding opportunities
• Regulatory guidelines
• Building a value proposition
• Financial modelling

Delegates also heard case studies outlining the experiences of innovators and companies who have already developed products for use by clinicians and patients.
