Applications open for NIHR GOSH BRC non-clinical, translational research PhD programme

The NIHR Great Ormond Street Hospital Biomedical Research Centre (NIHR GOSH BRC) is advertising three-year full time non-clinical BRC PhD Studentships beginning on 1 October 2024.

Successful students will be appointed and registered as UCL PhD students and will be based at GOSH and/or ICH. The students will be provided with a starting stipend of £21,181 per annum (includes London weighting), consumables and fees at the UK home student rate. There are two NIHR GOSH PhD programmes:

  1. NIHR GOSH BRC Applied Child Health Informatics Theme (Non-Clinical) PhD Studentships – which is offering up to two PhD studentships, one in the areas of health data science/epidemiology/statistics and the other in the areas of applied machine learning and informatics.
  2. NIHR GOSH BRC Translational Research (Non-Clinical) PhD Studentships – which is offering up to three PhD studentships, two within the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine theme and one within the Accelerating Novel Therapies theme.

Students wishing to apply may indicate up to two choices from the PhD project portfolio that they would be interested in undertaking. To apply, prospective students will need to submit an application form, CV and arrange for two references to be sent to brc@gosh.nhs.uk.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 15 May 2024 and interviews will take place in June.
