TEST BEDS

Test beds evaluate technologies in real-world settings

National Paediatric Technology Test Bed

The National Paediatric Technology Test Bed brings NHS trusts and industry partners together to rapidly evaluate digital technologies in real-world hospital and community settings.

Testing technology in real-world settings with the end users (i.e., clinical teams, children, young people, and families) is vital for the successful adoption of child health technology into the NHS. Specifically, trialling new technologies ensures that the technology is:

  • Safe and fit for purpose;
  • Suitable for integration into clinical services; and
  • Approved by the end users.

NIHR CYP MedTech and the TITCH network support and deliver the National Paediatric Technology Test Bed. If you would like to trial a technology, please get in touch.

The Perfect Patient Pathway Test Bed

The Perfect Patient Pathway Test Bed aims to create the ‘perfect patient pathway’ to bring substantial benefits for people living with long-term health conditions, such as diabetes, mental health problems, respiratory disease, hypertension, and other chronic conditions.

The aim is to keep people with long-term conditions well, independent, and avoiding crisis points that often result in hospital admissions, intensive rehabilitation, and a high level of social care support.

This test bed covers the population of the Sheffield City Region, and is led by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
