Tuesday 12 October 2021

The Starworks team were proud to present at the 2021 Virtual Conference for the British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO) on Friday 08 October 2021.

BAPO places a key emphasis on empowering both the professional and the user in prosthetic and orthotic fields. The conference brought together a diverse range of presentations and live panel sessions showcasing the latest research from across the UK.

Starworks is a young people’s prosthetic research collaboration hosted by NIHR Devices for Dignity MedTech Co-operative and NIHR Children and Young People MedTech Co-operative. Starworks brings children and their families together with key opinion leaders from the NHS, industry, clinical academia, and leading national research centres in child prosthetics.

The Starworks team were joined by five of the Starworks funded Proof of Concept projects, who presented the fantastic innovations which are being designed in partnership to meet the unique needs of children and young people who use prosthetics. Together, the teams participated in a live Q&A session to discuss the work further, as well as share hopes for continued research and collaboration in this space.
