Project Manager Vacancy

Monday 12 October 2020

An incredible opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join us at The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Children and Young People MedTech Co-operative (CYP MedTech), hosted by Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

CYP MedTech were established in January 2018 and we are looking to expand our team. CYP MedTech is a centre of expertise funded by the NIHR to act as a catalyst within the NHS for the development of new medical devices, healthcare technologies and technology-dependent interventions. CYP MedTech’s focus is on children with long term conditions and is a national network that has 7 dedicated themes.

The successful post holder will work with the Programme Manager and the Clinical Director to manage and co-ordinate projects throughout CYP MedTech’s portfolio, this includes supporting of all of our stakeholders and theme leads in order to provide a coherent approach to CYP MedTech’s activities. If you are an efficient autonomous worker, capable of building and maintaining relationships and breaking down barriers with all of our stakeholders, please apply.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to take the next step in an exciting career and who wants to support the NHS and our industry partners provide improved and more meaningful medical technology for children with long term conditions. The post will be based at Sheffield Children’s Hospital but will involve working closely with our theme leads around the country, our academic partners and other members of the medical technology community. Due to the ongoing pandemic, home working will be essential in the short term, we hope to be in a position later in the 2021 to return to an office/homeworking based approach.

We envisage that there will be some occasions in the future when travel to regional, national and international meetings and events will be required to support CYP MedTech’s activity. We will provide excellent opportunities for professional development. In return, we are seeking candidates who have an excellent range of project manager skills. Proven recent experience of coordinating and supporting complex projects would be an advantage, as well as skills in communications, engagement activity and stakeholder liaison.

We welcome applicants from the NHS, industry and academia. Successful applicants will be required to adopt a flexible working pattern and will be expected to work autonomously at times but also be an excellent team player.
